The Tucson Orienteering Club will host three USOF A events on the weekend of February 23-24, 2008. Come to the foothills of the Santa Rita mountains for a classic-distance competition Saturday morning followed by a sprint in the afternoon, and a second classic-distance event on Sunday morning. There will also be a Trail-O event on the northwest side of Tucson on Friday Map Snippetafternoon. Eligible runners with the least accumulated time of the two classic-distance events will be awarded the title of 2008 Western States Orienteering Champion in each USOF class. 2008 United States Intercollegiate Orienteering Championship titles will be awarded to the eligible individuals and teams with the least accumulated time of the three A-meets.  The meet will take place on the Kentucky Camp and Greaterville maps in the Coronado National Forest, 35 miles southeast of Tucson, Arizona. Overnight camping will be available at the meet site. Entry fees are waived for juniors (aged 18 and younger) and there will be free pre-white course activities (including a string-O) as well as babysitting. A training course will be open February 22 (Friday afternoon).
